Three Of The Military Branches Of The USA Armed Forces

In America there are 5 separate military branches that exist and that you can join to serve the nation. The different branches are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and the Coast Guard. All of them are a bit different from one another but the core value they have in common is that they help to serve and protect the people of the USA. Whatever branch people choose to become a part of is what they decide and wanted to become part of and there is a deep loyalty to that specific branch as well. A lot of active duty members in addition to retired members of the military proudly show off their branch in various methods such as wearing military t-shirts or a military t-shirt with their unit on it or decorating their house or vehicle with decals and other mementos depicting their branch too. This article discuss three out of the five branches, the Army, Navy and the Air Force.

The Army is responsible for defending and protecting the nation on the ground. This is done by use of ground troops, tanks, helicopters and tactical nuclear weapons. It is the oldest of all of the branches having been formed on June 14, 1775. It is also the biggest of all of the branches as well with 76,000 officers and over 400,000 signed up members that are on active duty. The Army is also helped from reserve groups that are the Army Reserves and the Army National Guard. Every state has their own National Guard unit but in times of need, The President of America can call upon the help of the National Guard at any time.

The Navy was also created in 1775, such as the Army and their main responsibility is dealing with the freedom of the seas. To do that they use navy ships, cruise missiles, submarines and also large aircraft carriers that can hold up to 80 aircraft. The Navy often helps the Air Force with providing air service to areas that are in conflict by the use of their ships. The Navy is also responsible for getting the Marines to areas of conflict as well. They are certainly working together with other branches. They do not have a Naval National Guard to assist them such as the Army does but some states have groups known as Naval Militias.

The Air Force is the newest branch having been created in 1947. They used to be a part of the Army but after World War II the need for stronger air force was seen. The Air Force has the job of defending the US through air and space using many different types of aircrafts. They are also responsible for military satellites and the nations nuclear missiles. They are helped by the Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard as well.

Whether our nation must be protected on the ground, on the ocean or in the air, these 3 military branches are ready for anything and everything to deal with security and protection.
